Blind Taste Test Results- 8/1/08
The most recent blind taste test results are in. In case I haven’t explained this before, I insist that I can tell the difference between many (not all) brand name foodstuffs. Ransom, spendthrift that he is, disagrees and wants to test my assertion.
Last night, Honey Nut Cheerios vs. Hy-Vee Honey Tastee-O’s [sic]. Result: I won! There is definitely a difference, but the generics tasted like Alpha-Bits, so I might be OK getting those.
So far, I’ve been right on Captain Morgan vs. Admiral Nelson flavored rums (tested months ago, I swear!), Cap’n Crunch vs. generic “equivalent”, any real soda vs. RC Cola, Apple Jacks (anticipated win— the bagged ones are awful), and another one I can’t think of. I was unable to tell the difference between brand name and generic Fruit Loops and Frosted Flakes.
